Avon Rubber p.l.c. ('Avon') is a UK based public company listed on the London Stock Exchange, with locations around the world including the US, China and Brazil. We are 125 years old and were once well known for making tyres, boats and other rubber products. In the last 10 years we have very successfully re-launched ourselves as a smaller dynamic and innovative design and engineering group. We still design and manufacture "real" products and specialise in two core markets where we are global technology leaders; Protection and Defence (respiratory protection equipment for military, law enforcement and fire markets) and Dairy (milking equipment for dairy farms). For the first time in the new era, we are looking to recruit the next generation of business leaders to help take our exciting growth story forward.
As a growing business we are looking for graduates who want to develop the skills to become our business leaders of the future. Successful applicants will undertake a 24 month structured programme designed to give them an understanding of the entire business before entering into your first career role. Your placement can cover all disciplines and business areas, for example corporate (finance, IT, legal, company secretarial), operations, product design and engineering, sales and marketing, but will be tailored to fit your career aspirations. It could take you on secondment to any one of our business locations around the world, although you will be based at our head office near Bath in Wiltshire.
As well as involving you in real operational issues, you will also receive training to hone your presenting, influencing and communicating skills. Through continuous appraisals and feedback, and with the help of a mentor, you'll plot and control your career - taking you from entry-level position to specialist, expert and beyond, in a company which is growing fast and which offers lots of opportunity for rapid progression.
