Chartered Accountancy
Chartered Accountants are hugely respected, highly visible figures at Aviva. It's not just that they face all kinds of jaw-dropping technical, market and regulatory challenges. In fact, it's fair to say that they drive our whole business, influencing key decisions and shaping policy to transform the way we work.
What you'll do
You'll have three years to become a qualified accountant. In between a series of 7 to 12 month placements in different Finance teams, you'll study for the ICAS exams, with modules covering everything from Financial Reporting to Auditing, Law to Taxation. Back in the office, there's a constant stream of £multi-billion business challenges to tackle - all demanding the kind of sharp thinking that will serve you well for the rest of your career.
What you'll need
We're not overly worried which subject you studied at university, as graduates from different disciplines bring different ideas to the table. The crucial element is mental dexterity, allied to a passion for business. Since we'll expect you to be a big influence, you must have the makings of an exceptional leader and communicator too.
