We are a dynamic privately owned company established 28yrs; a highly experienced provider of commercial catering and laundry solutions to the healthcare, leisure and hospitality sectors in the UK, supplying to a range of blue chip companies. We are looking to recruit for a new position to report directly to the Contracts Director. The successful candidate will participate in The Advance Group 2 year Graduate Development Programme working within all sectors of the business alongside the Senior Management Team. Heshe will embark on a three phased programme to ensure they develop an in depth understanding of the business. The programme ensures that there is a structured path to follow towards middle and then senior management.
There will be the opportunity to undertake external training alongside the programme on a range of topics which could include Leadership and Motivation, Catering Design, Contracts Management, Time Management, Team Working and or Presentation Skills.
Phase 1: (approx. 2 months)
You will develop an in depth understanding of the Design sections three main database packages, Sage 200 (quotations), AUTOCAD (kitchen designs 2D) and AutoKitchen V9.0 (kitchen designs in 2D and 3D).
Phase 2: (approx. 2 months)
You will develop an in depth understanding of the Administration sections Sage 200 (ordering and invoicing) main database.
You will develop some system processes and apply these and your knowledge of the Sage 200 MMS system to take on the regular reporting of management data for contracts working closely with the Contracts and Finance Directors.
Phase 3: (12 months)
It is envisaged that by the start of Phase 3, you will have an in-depth understanding of the business and in particular Sage and AUTOCAD. You will also by this stage be responsible for 3D kitchen designs and snag free handovers. The next projects would include the review of Caterquotes, to take on the contracts workload allocation and to develop a Contracts Processes Bible. You will also start working towards reducing the Company’s margin gap working with the Contracts Managers and Finance Directors.
Your development during this period will also be on site with the Contract Managers learning about the technical and contractual sides of the Contract managers tasks and office based developing the knowledge learnt on phase 1 and 2.
Outcomes:
- Development of the graduate to a middle management position within 2 years, with the potential for a senior management position with the company within 5 years.
- Improved systems for the Advance Group to meet the needs of the Strategic Plan to 2014.

We want to recruit the best graduates to ensure that we have the best leaders of the future for our business, and therefore we are looking for a graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree in Business, who must be IT literate, ambitious with a self motivated, energetic personality, a flexible team player with excellent communication skills, good problem solving skills and leadership ability.
Candidates must live or be willing to locate to within a 25 mile radius of the office in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire.
Salary increases will be based on performance against designated KPI’s.
Candidates may be asked to undergo psychometric profiling.
