A market leading secure data systems provider who work extensively with socially important services including Education, Justice, Health and Employment, for clients ranging across the voluntary, private and public sectors.
Location:
The offices are located in central London, close to Kings Cross. There will be occasional travel to customer sites in the UK.
The Candidate :
The Technical Business Analyst will work at all stages of the project process, including
- The sales stage, to perform business requirements analysis.
- The solution design stage, to produce the functional specification (solution design) and to work closely with the developers as they produce the technical design.
- The development and testing stage, to ensure that the product produced meets the needs of the customer.
They will work on a range of projects, including web based Case Management systems and client facing portals, taking the lead on complex projects and overseeing the work of others on smaller projects.
In addition to having traditional business analysis skills, the person filling this role must also be technically competent enough to understand, after training, the functionality of a standard module within the MegaNexus software suite and to define the required configuration to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
Business requirements elicitation on complex multi-faceted projects, including:
- Stakeholder analysis of a customer organisation
- Facilitation of workshops and meetings as needed
- Problem analysis
- Elicitation and documentation of customer requirements at both a high level and detailed level, often in an environment where these requirements are poorly defined at the outset
- Maintenance of a requirements traceability matrix
- Formation of good business relationships with customer stakeholders to support product sales and delivery, at a wide variety of client sites
- Discussion, where needed, of overall strategy and objectives with senior customer stakeholders
- Close working with the sales team to facilitate the writing of a proposal, often in short timescales
- Close working with the development team

- The confidence and the experience to manage stakeholders' expectations and to challenge them effectively, where necessary, at all levels, up to and including the CEO.
- A commitment to good requirements elicitation as the foundation of the successful project.
- An ability to communicate with both business stakeholders and technical people in their own language, and to translate effectively from one to the other.
- Good written and verbal skills, including the ability to write effective project documentation and to present an argument verbally to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, good attention to detail.
- The ability to understand a software module in enough detail to know which module might be applicable to a given requirement
- Understanding of the configuration requirements and what they mean for the business.
- Business analysis experience in a project environment.
