The client is looking to recruit a technically astute Senior Infrastructure Engineer. The main objective is to effectively support the Head of IT in managing all Internal Global IT systems. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for the right person to help pro-actively manage, develop and grow the Global IT Department.
Reporting directly to the Shared Services Director, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the IT functions, with the assistance of in house staff and external service providers.
Responsibilities:
- Act as technical lead for internal projects
- Deal with IT technical escalations
- Provide management and guidance to the IT team
- Lead role in developing and maintaining the IT roadmap
- Day to day system maintenance including: Backups, Performance monitoring and tuning, Security, Patching, User maintenance, Business continuity
Career progression can lead into either Head of IT Infrastructure or SAP consultancy.
Essential skills:
- University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant subject
- Windows and Linux operating systems
- Virtualization e.g. VMWare, Xen, Hyper-V
- Web servers e.g. Tomcat, Apache, IIS
- Storage and SAN technologies
- Networks and network theory including OSI model
- Database technologies e.g. Oracle, MSSQL, mySQL, DB2
