A market leading secure data systems provider who work extensively with socially important services including Education, Justice, Health and Employment, for clients ranging across the voluntary, private and public sectors.
As a Technical Business Analyst you will work on all stages of the project process, including:
- The sales stage; performing business requirements analysis.
- The solution design stage; producing the functional specification (solution design) and working closely with the developers as they produce the technical design.
- The development and testing stage; ensuring the product produced meets the needs of the customer.
You will work on a range of projects, including web based Case Management systems and client facing portals, taking the lead on complex projects and overseeing the work of others on smaller projects.
You must be technically competent enough to understand, after training, the functionality of a standard module within the software suite and define the required configuration to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Business requirements elicitation on complex multi-faceted projects.
- Stakeholder analysis.
- Facilitation of workshops and meetings.
- Problem analysis.
- Elicitation and documentation of customer requirements at both a high level and detailed level, often in an environment where these requirements are poorly defined at the outset.
- Requirements traceability matrix.
- Building good business relationships with customer stakeholders to support product sales and delivery, at a wide variety of client sites.
- Working closely with the sales team during the writing of a proposal.
- Working with the development team to facilitate the production of an estimate for development work.
- Solution design for standard requirements.
- Support of testing and implementation.
- Lead business analyst responsibility for complex projects, and the oversight of others working in the same role on smaller projects.
- Provision of day to day client support and the handling of client queries on various aspects of the products in a fast-paced environment.
- Contribution to product development through identification of new requirements.
Essential Skills:
- The confidence and experience to manage stakeholders? expectations and challenge them effectively, where necessary, at all levels, up to and including the CEO.
- A commitment to good requirements elicitation as the foundation of the successful project.
- An ability to communicate with both business stakeholders and technical people in their own language, and to translate effectively from one to the other.
- Good written and verbal skills; including the ability to write effective project documentation and present an argument verbally to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, good attention to detail.
- The ability to understand a software module in enough detail to know which module might be applicable to a given requirement.
- Understand the configuration requirements and what they mean for the business.
- Business analysis experience in a project environment of at least 5 years.
