GRADUATE TRAINEE RESEARCHERS/WRITERS

LEGAL MEDIA
Euromoney’s legal publishing division seeks graduate trainee researchers to work on Managing Intellectual Property’s annual IP Survey, the market’s leading review of the top intellectual property law firms worldwide. Candidates should have a strong academic record (2:i degree or above), and genuine interest in business journalism.
Successful applicants will interview leading patent, trade mark and copyright lawyers and their clients (by phone and face-to-face) in a range of countries. They will also produce law firm rankings and editorial for each of these markets.
This is an excellent opportunity to break into legal publishing. A comprehensive 6 month training programme will be provided in all aspects of journalism. Most trainees are retained as researchers or staff writers on group titles after successful completion of the training period.

Trainee Journalists – EuroWeek
EuroWeek , the weekly newspaper of the global capital markets is recruiting trainee reporters to be based in London to cover European bonds. The position would suit a self-starting graduate eager to build a career in financial journalism. A genuine, provable interest in business and financial affairs is essential. We can offer early responsibility, a fast-paced news-gathering environment and the chance to cover one of the world’s most exciting financial markets from the inside. Metal Bulletin, the world’s leading publication on the steel and metals industries, look throughout the year, for graduate trainees for its news team in London. Successful candidates will contribute to our live news service and Metal Bulletin’s flagship magazine. Languages and some experience of journalism would be an advantage, but are not essential.

Trainee Journalist – Euromoney Magazine
Created in 1969, Euromoney Magazine covers the International capital markets.  You will be writing breaking news and people move stories for our foreign exchange news service, the weeklyFiX.  Applicants must have an interest in the financial markets, be able to pay close attention to detail, have an ability to work to tight deadlines, and have the initiative to go out into the market to sniff out good stories.

Trainee Journalist – Legal Media
Euromoney’s Legal Media Group recruit graduate trainee journalists at various points during the year. Our roles involve researching and writing for a number of publications in the areas of finance, intellectual property, tax, real estate and litigation.
The roles involve:- coordinating international research process for a number of publications, surveys and market reports; arranging and conducting in-depth interviews (face-to-face and by telephone) with senior-level lawyers and general counsel of large corporates; writing informative and analytical editorial about the legal market in a number of countries, based on the results of the research conducted Strong academic record (a 2:i degree or above), outstanding writing skills and a genuine interest in business journalism are essential. Knowledge of the legal and financial markets, fluency in a foreign language and experience in handling large-scale research projects desirable.
