Metal Bulletin – Research
UK BASED JUNIOR DATA ANALYST (JDA)


General overview of position:
The junior data analyst (JDA) will look to actively expand, manage, support and collect statistical information and create large-scale information databases on the global metals/mining industry. The role will also look to assist with writing business intelligence reports, maintain research databases and establish and maintain contact with global metal companies. The JDA will also write reports for the business and contribute research support on the more in-depth analysis of regional steel and metal markets.

Detailed description of specific duties:
- The JDA will regularly manage, collect and support data and statistics on the global metals industry. To do this he/she will collate established and official data sources, as well as source new channels for such information.
- The JDA will provide support with regular written industry reports and analysis
- The JDA will build and maintain contact databases and contact them regularly in order to obtain market-related information for the aid of writing business intelligence reports.
- The JDA will establish and maintain good personal relationships with key industry contacts at companies, associations, and government bodies relating to global metal industries.
- The JDA will monitor local press, reports, and miscellaneous publications to keep abreast of all news and information of direct consequence to the metal industries and MBR information databases.
- Other office administrative function support including: maintaining editorial schedules, working closely with sales and marketing, working to support the analyst teams and Head of Research

Metal Bulletin – Research/Economic Analyst
Metal Bulletin Research (MBR), a division of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, is one of the leading suppliers of economic research and consultancy services to the metals and mining industry. MBR is looking to recruit a graduate analyst to contribute to a wide range of research products.

The role will focus on the preparation of weekly and monthly research newsletters focussed on certain aspects of the metal industries. These reports will analyse current market conditions and forecast future trends and prices. The analyst will also be expected to contribute to client-specific consultancy work on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 2:1, ideally in economics, maths or a subject with high level of statistical analysis. Language skills would be an advantage as MBR have an international client base and analysts are frequently required to engage in overseas travel.

Candidates must have excellent analytical, written and presentation skills and sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Telephone Research

We have regular temporary vacancies for telephone marketing researchers to help with our direct marketing efforts. There are ad-hoc projects available throughout the year and will give you valuable business experience. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our marketing

managers across the group to help supply timely, high quality information relevant to the company’s products and markets.

These roles are available for students looking for part-time, temporary work whilst studying or vacation work. Previous telephone experience, good computer skills essential. Basic knowledge of financial markets and European languages are desirable.
