Postgraduate Biology Courses

There are several career paths to follow after a postgraduate qualification in biology, including research, health care, environmental management and conservation, and Education. You could end up working at a university, a primary school, a science museum, zoo or nature park upon completion of postgraduate study in Biology.

If you have a specific research interest, you should consider an MPhil or PhD, which will involve carrying out supervised research in your chosen subject. Taught Biology courses are MRes and MSci. If you are ensure about your specific area of Biological Sciences then a more general option such as a Master of Research (MRes) degree, which is a one-year, full-time course consisting of both taught courses and research projects, which will give applicants an idea of what longer, more specified postgraduate courses in biology are like.
