Postgraduate Biochemistry Courses

To enter a postgraduate course in biochemistry, applicants will need a good honours degree in chemistry or a biosciences-related subject. Postgraduate courses in biochemistry can vary between those who aim to train researchers of the future, and those who equip students with technical skills for their future careers in industry.

Research conducted by the Biochemical Society indicates that around two-thirds of Biochemistry MSc and PhD graduates enter biochemical employment or further training after completing a course. Very few seek employment outside biochemistry, and there is traditionally a very low level of unemployment for biochemistry postgraduates.
