Cable and Wireless Graduate Profile Page
"One of the biggest business turnarounds attempted in British industry in the last 50 years." The Sunday Times
Cable&Wireless Europe, Asia and US is one of the world's leading international communications organisations, providing enterprise and carrier solutions to the largest users of telecoms services around the world.
OUR STORY stretches back over 100 years, to our humble beginning as a telegraph company. We have seen technology evolve through cable, radio, satellite and beyond, to a new era of international communications. Throughout, we've developed our business to suit the constantly evolving global communications marketplace.
OUR AMBITION is to redefine what it's like to work with a global telecommunications company. Instead of selling to customers, we want to talk to them about building their business. We want to lead the market by understanding our customers' needs and delivering against them, brilliantly, every time.
OUR FOCUS is on fewer, larger customers, where our experience and capability can make the most difference for their business. We will help them manage their telecoms agenda and by doing this, we develop our own capabilities to better meet their needs.
OUR CUSTOMERS have told us that they need to find new ways of working, new ways to engage with their consumers. They need to build better relationships and empower their own organisations to do better. However, they must also be innovative and reduce costs! We understand these challenges and are ready to help them achieve their goals.
OUR AIM is to work with you to help you build a better business...take a look at our website and decide for yourself
The Graduate Scheme - GRAD 2 GR8
Gain Chartered Engineer status within two years.
"At Cable&Wireless, we don't aim to be a little better than our competitors - we're striving to create a new industry, an industry that's defined by our customers' needs. And to do this, we need great people, people that can really make a difference."
Our graduate scheme for engineers is a two-year vocational programme designed to give you the competencies required to gain Chartered Engineer status, and provide the necessary motivation and capabilities to fully contribute to and influence new technical and network developments that are business critical.
You'll complete four six-month technical and commercial placements within the organisation (including possible overseas postings), including technical, business and competency training courses, which will also allow you to establish a useful network of contacts. And at the end of the scheme you'll be offered a permanent placement in an established technical area of the business.
We're looking for five graduates to join us in early October 2008 at either our London or Bracknell office with a Telecoms or IT related degree from an IET sanctioned University (2:2 or above).
If you are a graduate meeting such criteria, get more information or apply today.
