Teach First Graduate Profile Page
Teach First is a unique two-year opportunity for graduates to be different and to achieve something special. A graduates energy, intelligence and creativity can transform the futures of students in challenging schools around the UK. At the same time Teach First is an opportunity for graduates to dramatically enhance their own career potential and to make a tangible difference to our society.
Teach First Graduate Recruitment
Teach First inspire graduates to consider the way their life has been changed by the education they have received. A graduates education will have equipped them with the knowledge and tools to solve problems, giving graduates insight and appreciation of the world around them, and above all opportunity. Teach First inspire graduates to imagine and teach them just how they could help other young people to access all of that.
Teach First takes exceptional graduates and transforms them into inspiring leaders. A graduates leadership, inspiration and example can be the key that unlocks the future for students confronted by a wide range of personal and social issues.
Graduate Development
While graduates are transforming the lives of young people in schools around the country, Teach First help their graduates to maximise their own potential, discover new skills and build on their existing skills. High-profile graduate recruiters from all sectors recognise that the skills and strategies developed in the classroom are highly relevant and applicable to management careers. That is why over 80 companies, government agencies and public bodies back Teach First to develop top graduate talent for the future. Put simply, if a graduate can engage, manage and stimulate a class of under-performing teenagers, that graduate can handle pretty much any situation in any business.
How it Works
Teach First recruits high-calibre graduates for two years to train and qualify as teachers. Initially graduates will attend six weeks of intensive training at one of the UK?s leading teacher-training institutions before being assigned to a school. Parallel to the teaching experience graduates will participate in the Teach First leadership programme, designed and delivered in collaboration with the Teach First business supporters and education partners. This will further develop a graduate's leadership skills and provide them with valuable contacts, coaching and internship opportunities, and business training. And, as a Teach First Ambassador, a graduate will continue to benefit from engagement with the Teach First network of supporters and alumni long after completing the programme.
