E.ON design programmes around their graduates, one size does not fit all at E.ON. E.ON want to know how graduates see their future, then provide them with the skills and experience they need to get to the top of their career. E.ON arrange for graduates to have placements across all business areas.

E.ON Graduate Corporate Management Programme

E.ON offer a graduate international development programme enabling graduates to work on live projects at the highest levels of E.ON's business. With a mix of strategic, tactical and operational roles, successful applicants will be part of E.ON's international community of Corporate Management graduates. Taking part in corporate induction in Düsseldorf and E.ON's International Development Programme.

Graduates will have four different placements, including one abroad. E.ON decide where the first graduate placement will be and then the graduates decide on the next three. Graduates need to have a clear focus on their future so they can start building contacts from day one.

Graduates will learn about E.ON's business units and the challenges and opportunities E.ON face. Graduates will develop an understanding of each of E.ON's business functions and how they work together to achieve E.ON's vision. Graduates will visit and experience other E.ON market units, completing workshops including understanding the energy markets, intercultural communication and project management.

E.ON Graduate Trading and Risk Management Programme

Location: Dusseldorf, Germany

Graduates will be working in the highly volatile wholesale markets in power, gas, coal, oil and carbon. Graduates will be working on a range of activities, from negotiating complex multi-year financial and physical deals; trading coal, gas, power and oil by screen and phone, to planning and programming road, rail and ship deliveries to power stations. And balancing, in real time, E.ON's gas and power portfolios 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Graduates will be part of a team formulating strategic direction; making sure risks and exposure are properly understood, and engaging in fundamental price forecasting.

 

E.ON Graduate Engineering Programme

Graduates will be part of E.ON's Professional Engineering Development Scheme, accredited by engineering institutions, including IET, IMechE, ICE and IoP.

Central Networks

Scheme Development: Professional Engineering Development Scheme (PEDS) Graduates will be part of Central Networks, E.ON's electricity distribution business.

Graduates will be joining a business providing power to nearly five million customers across central England. Through a network of 97,000 substations and 133,000km of underground cables and overhead lines.

E.ON will help you understand their network and how it works - and the key areas of safety, health and the environment.

 

Energy Wholesale

E.ON will help graduates understand the engineering behind power station design, operation and maintenance. Graduates will learn about all the commercial, contractual and management work that goes on at E.ON's power stations, too.

Graduates will have five placements, each one lasting three to six months and will directly benefit E'ON's business - in real life projects and roles with responsibility.

Graduate placements will include time at gas and coal fired power stations, in asset management and another business area. Graduates will be part of a team working on a major outtage of Power Station.

Graduates could be managing a project or contract, or preparing an investment proposal. Or supervising a maintenance activity or the procurement of plant equipment.

 

Energy Services

Graduates will be part of Energy Services, designing and delivering engineering solutions, products and services to industrial, commercial and domestic customers across the UK. Graduates will be helping connect E.ON's customers to electricity, gas and water - E.ON connect a customer every two minutes in over 12 million homes a year. E.ON are developing and installing innovative energy efficient technologies across a wide range of developments.

Technology and Innovation

Graduate Professional Engineering Development Scheme (PEDS)

Here E.ON are shaping the future of energy - with low carbon resources developed by the best people in the industry. E.ON's graduates are part of it. Graduates will work with the very latest technology on projects that influence the whole energy industry.

Graduates will develop technical and commercial skills through four placements.  

 

E.ON Graduate Human Resources Programme

E.ON offer graduates the skills and experience for a great career in HR.

By the end of the scheme, graduates will be ready to become a generalist or specialist HR professional. Graduates could end up directly partnering managers and employees within a Business Unit. Or leading E.ON's Learning & Development or Talent Management team.

E.ON have just started this scheme - so graduates will be joining at an exciting time.

Graduates will get involved with HR activities across E.ON's business through four placements.

Graduates will have the support of a network of HR professionals, working towards CIPD professional status.

 

E.ON Graduate Information Technology Programme

Graduates will help over 16,000 employees do their job every day. Putting in place and managing the technology that's helping to make E.ON a household name, and keeping E.ON's customers happy.

Graduates will be involved in real projects from the start, developing skills and expertise in a 1,000-strong team of IT professionals.

In the first year graduates will find out what it is like to support IT systems in the UK's largest integrated energy company.

Graduates will have four placements, helping E.ON to improve the way they do business. In six months graduates will lead their own project to help shape E.ON's business.

E.ON support their graduates to get the best industry qualifications - like ITIL and Prince2.

 

E.ON Graduate Finance Programme

Finance supports everything E.ON UK does, central to the business. Successful graduates will be giving key people in the company the information and insight to make critical business decisions.

Each of E.ON's Business Units has its own finance team, alongside their Business Services and UK Centre Finance teams. Graduates will be able to gain experience across the business in a series of two to four month placements:

  • Financial Business Planning
  • Taxation
  • Treasury
  • UK Finance Strategy
  • Non-finance placement

Graduates will work towards the CIMA qualification.

 

E.ON Graduate Supply Chain and Logistics Programme

An 18-24 month graduate programme, graduates can work towards Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Prince2 (Project Management)

Graduates will be part of a team managing an annual spend of more than £1 billion, involved in protecting E.ON against risk in a fast-moving commercial setting. As part of E.ON's Supply Chain and Logistics teams, graduates will make sure E.ON get the best from a huge range of goods and services to meet E.ON's high standards. Graduates will build relationships between E.ON's departments and suppliers, proving crucial to E.ON's success.

Graduates will undertake placements across all areas of Supply Chain: Retail, Corporate, IS, Energy Wholesale, Energy Services, Central Networks and Logistics. Placements also exist abroad.

Graduates will build important people skills like negotiation and stakeholder management, along with expertise in statistical analysis, risk management and procurement.

Graduates will be able to gain the CIPS and Prince2 qualifications while on placement and E.ON provide further professional development through E.ON's online Procurement Functional Academy.
